Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez Honors Outstanding Orange County Women

SANTA ANA – Jackeline Cacho, known as the Spanish-language Queen of Edutainment, will receive a Congressional award for her many years in media, spotlighting positive Latino role models.

At a reception to be held on Thursday, April 7, at the Delhi Center in Santa Ana, Cacho will be among 12 outstanding women honored by Orange County Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez. The reception will focus attention on women who contribute to the advancement of education, business, media and the betterment of their communities.

The host and producer of the nationally broadcast weekly television program “Triunfo Latino,” Cacho interviews major Latino newsmakers, celebrities and leaders who share their success stories and sage advice for surviving and thriving in today’s fast-paced world.

“I am deeply honored and thank God for this wonderful award, acknowledging my life work of introducing positive Latinos,” Cacho stated. “To receive the award from a woman like Loretta Sanchez, who I deeply respect, only adds meaning to its impact on my life.”

Peruvian native Cacho started her journalism career with Univision’s  television station in San Antonio, Texas. She rose to prominence covering local issues, and soon made the transition to national news with Univsion, Telemundoand TV Azteca. She has been recognized previously for her long career promoting positive Latinos. She received a La Opinion Newspaper’s 2014 Outstanding Women of the Year Award, the Latina of Influence Award from Latina Lifestyle Magazine, and numerous other awards and recognition from chambers of commerce, educational and community organizations.

Cacho will turn a new page in her successful career with next month’s release of her first book, “Mi MochilaEmocional” (My Emotional Backpack), which chronicles her personal debilitating struggles with anxiety and panic attacks.
